Course Description

SUMMER SEASON 2026 5-8 y/o | Thursdays 15:15-16:15 60 min Discover Art Lab Amsterdam’s Summer Art Classes! Exploring Nature, Creativity, and Wonder This summer, young artists will step into nature’s studio—drawing under open skies, mixing colors inspired by the elements, and discovering the magic of artistic expression through outdoor exploration. 🌿 Nature as Our Muse: Children will observe and create art inspired by the wonders of the natural world. We’ll explore different shades of colours, draw magical animals like the giraffe, and make cyanotypes inspired by the 25th anniversary of Ijburg and the neighbourhood's influences from the history of photography. 🖌️ Hands-on Discovery: From drawing plants in the park to experimenting with handmade paper, each session encourages playful experimentation and skill-building with a variety of materials. 🎨 Building Confidence & Mindfulness: Our classes nurture self-expression and artistic confidence. We incorporate meditation techniques to help children connect with their surroundings and reflect on their artistic process. 🌍 A Celebration of Art & Culture: Inspired by both historical and contemporary artists, children will learn techniques that connect them to artistic traditions from around the world - like printing artworks inspired by Andy Warhol- and including influences from local museums. 🎶 A Joyful Experience: Relaxing, inspiring music accompanies our sessions, making creativity feel both energizing and calming. Every child receives a sketchbook to use throughout the course. ✨ Community & Celebration: Parents are invited to join us for a special final session to experience the creative journey alongside their child. Plus, each young artist will receive a small creative gift to take home. Let your child’s creativity flourish in nature this summer with Art Lab Amsterdam!
